Game Stages
An API for adding stages, for modpacks and other mods to use!
Source-provided project description. FreeMinecraftMods keeps creator credit and adds separate compatibility and decision guidance below.
Project overview
This mod provides a framework for creating progression systems in modpacks. These progression systems are based on stages which are player specific flags used to track their progress. Using other mods and addons you can configure the game to react differently to a player depending on the stages they have unlocked. While the term stage may imply a linear progression they can be used for virtually all types of progression systems. Some common examples of this include using stages for RPG classes and skills, Pack modes (expert, hardcore, easy), and branching quests. For specific information on how to use GameStages, please refer to the GitHub page that matches with the version of the mod you are using. FreeMinecraftMods decision guide
This mod is most relevant to players looking for Server Utility, API and Library on Forge, NeoForge, undefined. Treat those labels as discovery hints, then verify the exact file and dependency list on the official project page.
The latest stored update signal is Feb 18, 2025. Older projects can still work well, but they deserve extra compatibility testing before being added to a current world or public server.
What to verify before choosing a file
- Confirm that the file is published by the credited creator on the linked official source.
- Match the Minecraft version exactly instead of relying only on a broad category label.
- Read dependencies, incompatibilities, and changelog notes before updating an existing instance.
- Match the loader or server platform and its required version. Forge and NeoForge are not interchangeable.
- Back up worlds and configuration files before testing the project in a long-term save or public server.
