Source-provided project description. FreeMinecraftMods keeps creator credit and adds separate compatibility and decision guidance below.
Project overview
Illager Ward Protect villages from Illager raids with the Totem of Sanctuary , a defensive block designed to keep villagers safe while controlling raiders, projectiles, and Vexes. When a raid begins near the Totem, its sanctuary barrier activates and creates a protected circular area around the village. Features Totem of Sanctuary The Totem of Sanctuary protects an area with a default radius of 32 blocks while a raid is active. When operational, the Totem: Pushes raiders outside the sanctuary barrier. Uses a safe teleport fallback if a raider becomes trapped inside blocks. Blocks projectiles fired by Pillagers when they cross the barrier. Guides villagers near the boundary back into the protected area. Applies the Glowing effect to Pillagers participating in the raid, making them easier to locate. Creates a visible barrier using End Rod particles and Electric Sparks. Plays custom activation and impact sounds. Allows nearby Allays to act as guardians against Vexes. Anchors Vexes inside the protected area, limiting their ability to pass freely through the sanctuary. The barrier only becomes operational when an active raid is detected. Using the Totem Place the Totem of Sanctuary near the village you want to protect. Start or encounter a raid within its area. Use the Totem normally to view its current status. Sneak and use the Totem to enable or disable the barrier. The status message displays: Whether the barrier is enabled. Whether a raid is active. The sanctuary radius. The number of active Allay guardians. The number of anchored Vexes. Crafting Recipe The Totem of Sanctuary is crafted in a Crafting Table using the following pattern: Stone Bricks Iron Axe Stone Bricks Emerald Ominous Banner Emerald Stone Bricks Iron Ingot Stone Bricks The item in the center must be the real Ominous Banner dropped by an Illager raid captain. A regular White Banner will not work. The recipe is unlocked in the recipe book after obtaining an Iron Axe. Advancements Illager Ward includes three advancements: Pillagers Hate This One Trick Obtain a Totem of Sanctuary. Unbroken Sanctuary Win a raid while the village is protected by the Totem of Sanctuary. Clean Hands Win a raid protected by the Totem of Sanctuary without personally damaging any raider. Raiders may be defeated by fall damage, environmental damage, the sanctuary barrier, other entities, or other indirect methods.
